SMS

Where: Settings → Configuration → SMS

Sokisoko sends text messages through Sozuri, on a project you own, so messages carry your sender ID and are billed to your account. Today SMS carries payment reminders; every send is logged on the invoice.

Connect the project​

  1. In the Sozuri dashboard, open your project and copy its name (case-sensitive), then create an API key under Manage API → API credentials.
  2. In Sokisoko, open Settings → Configuration → SMS, switch on Send SMS notifications, and enter the project name, the Sender ID registered to that project, and the API key.
  3. Set the Country code your customers' local numbers use (the default is 254). A phone saved as 0722 503 129 becomes 254722503129.
  4. Press Save. The key is stored encrypted and the panel only ever shows Key stored; leaving the field blank on a later save keeps the stored key.

Test the wire​

Type a phone number in Test the wire and press Send test. One message goes out through the saved setup: "Test message from ‹your store› via Sokisoko". A failure shows the gateway's own reason (an unknown project, a wrong key, a barred number).

What uses SMS​

  • Payment reminders — the Remind customers about unpaid invoices automation texts each customer's billing contact on the cadence you set. See AR aging for the log and the manual Remind now button.

Messages are only sent inside the automation's business-hours window, and each stage reaches each number once.

Message class and sender ID​

Carriers register a sender ID as either transactional or promotional, and the class you send as has to match, or the network drops the message even though the gateway accepted it. Pick the class under How the carriers see it. Payment reminders are transactional by nature, so that is the default and the better sender ID to register; choose Promotional when that is what your sender ID actually is. Kenyan promotional traffic is also restricted to daytime hours, which the reminder rule's own send window already respects.

Campaign is optional and simply groups these sends in your gateway's own reports.
