Popups
Where: Content → Popups
Popups are templated cards the storefront shows to a matching audience: a welcome discount for first-time visitors, a newsletter or catalogue-download form, a trade-account nudge, an announcement bar, a WhatsApp chat prompt. As the page puts it: "Offers, signup forms and announcements shown on the storefront. Start from a template, describe one, or build your own."
Before you begin
- If a popup offers a discount code, create the promotion first under Promotions — the popup only displays the code, it does not create it.
- Decide who should see it: everyone, guests only, or signed-in buyers only.
Creating a popup
- Press New popup.
- Either describe it — the prompt's own example is "10% off the first order for guests who leave their email" — and press Draft with AI, or pick a template ("Or start from a template — everything is editable afterwards."). The templates are Welcome discount, Before you go (exit offer), Newsletter, Product showcase, Trade account, Fast quote, Volume pricing, Catalogue download, Announcement bar, WhatsApp chat, Product launch, and Blank.
- Fill in the editor, which has three parts:
Content
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Internal name | For your own list — buyers never see it (e.g. Welcome offer) |
| Audience | Everyone · Guests only (not signed in) · Signed-in buyers only |
| Headline · Message | What the card says (e.g. "Get 10% off when you sign up") |
| Image URL · Logo URL · Video URL | Optional media; pick from the Media library |
| Bullet points | One per line — e.g. Same-day dispatch on stocked lines |
| Button label · Button link | The primary call to action; links can be a storefront path like /register or a full URL |
| Second button label · Second button link | An optional secondary action, e.g. /search |
Capture form — tick Collect visitor details (each submission becomes a lead) to turn the card into a form. Choose which of name, email, phone and company to ask for (a form must include email or phone), then set the Submit label, an optional Consent line, the Success headline and Success message shown after submitting, and an optional Discount code revealed only on success.
Design & timing — the layout (centered, split with an image Left / Right / Top, corner, or banner), the theme (light, dark or brand) with an optional Accent colour, and the trigger: after a delay (up to 60 seconds), at a scroll depth, or on exit intent.
- Save. New popups start off; flip the status to active when you are ready. The list shows Name · Headline · Template · Kind · Audience · Priority · Status, and the live preview in the editor renders exactly what the storefront will show.
What happens on the storefront
- A visitor sees at most the highest-Priority active popup that matches their audience and whose trigger fires; once dismissed or submitted, that popup is not shown again on that device.
- A submitted form creates a lead with source popup under Leads, so the same notifications and automation rules that fire for storefront enquiries fire for popups too.
- The visitor learns the reward — success message and discount code — only after submitting; the code is never in the page source.
- Submissions are rate-limited and carry a hidden honeypot field, so bot traffic does not fill your CRM.
Popups travel with a storefront template: importing a template creates its popups by name and leaves them off, exactly as pages arrive as drafts.
